Pre-wedding Sessions

Like your hair and makeup trial, meeting your celebrant or rehearsing your vows, a pre-wedding session is a rehearsal before the big day. It is not a marketing shoot. It is an investment in your wedding day: meet your photographer, polish your look and posing, and find the best light and time of day for your bridal portraits.

Available to couples who have booked their wedding with us.

An investment in your wedding day

Meet your photographer

Spend relaxed time together before the wedding, so on the day you are working with someone you already know and trust.

Polish your look and posing

Try the posing, see what flatters you and what feels natural, and get comfortable in front of the camera while there is no pressure.

Find the best light for your portraits

Test the time of day and the kind of light you love, so we can plan your bridal portraits around it.

Plan the day around your photos

We talk through the wedding day together, so the timeline leaves enough time for every photo you want and nothing is missed.

How it works

  1. Your wedding is booked with us

Pre-wedding sessions are for couples who have already booked their wedding photography with She Said YES.

  2. Add your session

Ask us and we add it to your booking. We pick a date, a place you love and a time of day that suits the light you want.

  3. Rehearse together

A relaxed session with gentle prompts and new ideas. Then we chat through your wedding day plans.

  4. Get your private gallery

Your photos arrive in a private online gallery with high-resolution downloads to share with family and friends.

Where to have your session

Wherever you feel most like yourselves: a beach, a park, a garden, a city spot or somewhere that means something to the two of you.

Pre-wedding session FAQs

What is a pre-wedding session? +

A rehearsal for your wedding photos, also called an engagement session. Just like a hair and makeup trial or meeting your celebrant before the big day, it lets you meet your photographer, polish your look and posing, and find the best light for your portraits.

Who can book a pre-wedding session? +

Couples who have booked their wedding photography with She Said YES. It is part of preparing for your wedding day with us, not a stand-alone photo shoot.

Where can we have our session? +

Anywhere you love: a beach, a park, a garden, a city spot or somewhere that means something to the two of you.

When should we have it? +

Any time before the wedding. Choose a time of day with the kind of light you want for your bridal portraits, so we can try it together first.

In a private, password-protected online gallery with high-resolution downloads, so you can share them with family and friends. They are lovely for invitations, a welcome sign or a guestbook too.
