For Mags & Nick, the UQ Lakes at the University of Queensland campus in St Lucia was the perfect spot for their pre-wedding session. With the jacarandas in full bloom and the lakeside wildlife making appearances, the campus offered a relaxed blend of nature and colour right in the heart of Brisbane.
The session was all about capturing those genuine moments, playful hat games under the purple canopy, quiet embraces on sunlit benches, and the kind of laughter that comes from simply enjoying each other’s company. Whether sharing a bouquet or sneaking a kiss under a sprawling tree, Mags & Nick made the most of every nook and cranny among the jacaranda blossoms and leafy paths.
These photos are a window into who they are together: warm, a bit cheeky, and completely at ease with one another. From the close-up smiles to the shared glances, it’s clear that Mags & Nick know how to find fun and connection in the little things. The session was as much about making memories as it was about getting comfortable in front of the camera.
That’s the beauty of a pre-wedding session,it’s a chance to slow down, shake off any nerves, and get used to the lens before the big day. By the time the wedding rolls around, you’ve already had a practice run where it’s just the two of you (and maybe a curious pelican or two).
