UQ Lakes in St Lucia is famous for its purple jacaranda blooms, and it turned on all its charm for Jasmine & Oliver’s pre-wedding session. The University of Queensland campus was awash with colour, and the lakeside lawns were the perfect spot for a relaxed spring afternoon.
We wandered under the jacaranda canopy, Jasmine & Oliver trailing colourful balloons and soaking up the soft sunlight. They set up a picnic blanket near the water, with champagne, a heart-shaped note, and a bouquet of white flowers adding a personal touch. There was plenty of laughter, a few playful lifts, and a lot of quiet moments just for the two of them,no rush, no crowd, just the sound of petals falling and the lake nearby.
Jasmine & Oliver are the kind of couple who make each other feel at home, whether they’re sharing a drink, spelling out ‘I LOVE YOU’ in Scrabble tiles, or simply lying on the grass looking up at the sky. The session was about celebrating their engagement in a way that felt true to them, easygoing, thoughtful, and full of small joys.
Having a pre-wedding session like this is more than just getting photos; it’s a practice run for the big day, a chance to feel comfortable together in front of the camera without any pressure. It helps couples like Jasmine & Oliver relax and enjoy those moments, so when the wedding comes, it feels just as natural.
We’re already looking forward to seeing what’s next for Jasmine & Oliver, knowing that whatever comes, they’ll face it side by side.
